Laura J. Bond has been named a Healthcare Advisory Services Principal with nationally recognized healthcare consulting firm PYA. Bond brings to the position extensive healthcare legal experience, having practiced law for 25 years—most recently with Spencer Fane, Britt & Browne, LLP. Her areas of expertise include regulatory compliance, hospital-physician relationship structure, and physician compensation strategy.

Bond, who earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and spent 10 years as a faculty member teaching Lawyering I and II, will serve clients from PYA’s Kansas City office. “I am looking forward to this new phase in my career as I believe I will be able to assist healthcare organizations in a broader, more impactful manner in this new advisory capacity, with such a highly respected and well-established firm,” she said.
Often a guest speaker for conferences and webinars, Bond also has been active with several professional organizations including the American Health Lawyers Association, Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, and the Missouri Society of Healthcare Attorneys. She additionally has served on the Board of Directors for the Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County, Olathe Area United Way, Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Olathe Medical Center, and Health Access, Inc.
She has received honors and held titles of distinction that include a Martindale-Hubbell® "AV" Rating, Order of the Coif, Kansas Law Review contributor and editor, and Best Lawyers 2012-2014 (Lawyer of the Year, Health Care Law, 2012).
