Maria Corpuz, a sophomore at Creighton University in Omaha, experienced a gooi educational "trip of a lifetime" during her recent excursion to London and Stockholm. She represented Mygooi, the Des Moines-based mobile technology brand that brings people together using innovative digital products.

Corpuz spent two weeks interning with the Main Yard Innovation Project in England and the innovative creative marketing firm, Jontus Media in Stockholm. The 19-year-old from Omaha, tracked her gooi experiences using a Tumblr blog (http://gooiadventures.tumblr.com).

"I couldn't begin to imagine how gooi Europe is, but now I know,” Corpuz said. From watching the World Cup in London, to strolling the cobblestone streets of Old Town, built in the 14th century, in Stockholm, I was shocked to see how many people were thinking outside the box in a gooi way.”

"It was disruptive and lots of fun," Corpuz added.

Corpuz blogged about her highlights, including two bicyclists raising money for brain cancer research on a trip from London to Paris and the Duke of York International Festival for Business in Liverpool.

Corpuz, who is majoring in psychology and journalism at Creighton, says, "I'm looking to combine the two areas to be intellectually creative." She previously worked in Creighton's admissions office, where, among other things, she helped conduct campus tours.

"We look forward in the coming months to Maria's participation in the dramatic growth of gooiness in the U.S.," MyGooi CEO, Paul N. Greenwood said.

Her Tumblr blog captured the OuiShare Coworking Day in London. Begun over two years ago in Paris, OuiShare is both a think and a do tank, seeking to empower citizens, public institutions and companies to create an economy based on sharing, collaboration and openness.

"I was quite impressed with Maria's social media capabilities, as well as her energy and drive," Jon Buscall, president of Jontus Media, said. "It was amazing how many gooi spots she discovered in Sweden.

“We really enjoyed having Maria here. She impressed with how willing she was to talk to the locals and small businesses. She brought some of that unique gooi spirit to the Swedish capital."

"You only have to take a look at Maria's blog to realize what she accomplished in England," Bernie Mitchell, of the Main Yard Project co-working space in East London, said. "She did a perfect job of capturing the gooiness of London."
