Gary Falkowitz, a Managing Attorney at the law firm, Parker Waichman LLP, has been appointed a Village Prosecutor by the Village of East Hills, which is located on Long Island’s North Shore in Nassau County. The appointment was made on July 15, 2014.
In this new role, Mr. Falkowitz will be overseeing the prosecution of New York State vehicle and traffic law violations, managing discovery and motion practices on behalf of the Village Traffic Court, conducting trials for vehicle and traffic law violations and misdemeanors, and assisting with the prosecution of Village building and ordinance code offenses.
A well-respected attorney and a long-time resident in the New York metropolitan area, Mr. Falkowitz received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
Admitted into the New York State Bar in 2005, Mr. Falkowitz served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorneys Office through 2008 where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes. From there, he handled medical malpractice defense at Martin Clearwater & Bell, until 2009, when he joined Parker Waichman LLP as a Mass Torts Attorney. Since 2012, he has worked as a Managing Attorney at the firm.
In addition to being a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars, Mr. Falkowitz is also a member of the United States District Court for the Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of New York, as well as the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Falkowitz will continue in his position as Managing Attorney at Parker Waichman handling personal injury cases.
