Monaca, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) July 25, 2014
A comprehensive school safety and security program was announced today by Louis Gentile, President of CSI Corporate Security & Investigations.
The Sensible Solutions program provides school districts with a program that evaluates current policies and procedures; analyzes facilities and campus structures; provides a school safety curriculum and training in threat assessment and violence mitigation; and outlines a “blueprint” for action.
Developed by a veteran team of academic, law enforcement and criminal justice professionals, Sensible Solutions offers school officials one of the country’s first multifaceted, holistic approaches to school safety and security that seeks to address environmental factors before they become a problem.
“Since the tragic events at Sandy Hook there have been over 74 acts of violence in U.S. schools. The recent stabbings at Franklin Regional prove that Western PA is not immune from such violent actions. While we should not needlessly scare children, parents and teachers about the possibility of school violence, it is now something that we can no longer ignore,” Gentile said.
School administrators can sign up for Sensible Solutions on a year round basis, taking into account school schedules and training availability. They can expect state-of-the-art practices for school and campus security from the work of faculty members from University of Pittsburgh and Case Western University as well as behavioral and law enforcement professionals.
Gentile notes, “Although it may be impossible to stop all violent activity from happening there are many ways we can be prepared in the event that violence does take place.”
