The Alliance for Women in Media is pleased to announce the Women with Solutions: STEM Leadership in Media award honorees. The latest in AWM’s Women Award Series, Women with Solutions will recognize women whose leadership on-camera and in the board room has increased awareness and access to science, technology, engineering and math, especially to girls and young women. The honorees will be recognized during an exclusive event on October 28, 2014, at the Yale Club of New York City.
“America’s science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce is crucial to our innovative capacity and global competitiveness,” said Kay Olin, AWM Chair. “Yet, women are vastly underrepresented in STEM jobs and among STEM degree holders. AWM hopes recognition of the amazing work these honorees have accomplished will raise awareness and encourage more women to pursue careers in the STEM fields through education, leadership and content creation.”
Women working in a diverse range of media-related areas – including programming, technology, engineering, finance, digital and content creation – will be honored for their accomplishments, influence and innovation as STEM leaders. AWM’s Women with Solutions are (in alphabetical order):
