“We welcome PSSC Labs to the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program. Their unique server platforms are already being deployed in Apache Hadoop environments ."
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 29, 2014
PSSC Lab, today announced that it has joined the Hortonworks® Technology Partner Program. Hortonworks is the leading contributor to and provider of Apache™ Hadoop®. PSSC Labs will integrate the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) with its revolutionary Big Data Server platforms, including the Big Data D12000. The Big Data D12000 high performance server platform significantly lowers the total cost of ownership by reducing data center footprint and energy consumption.
By integrating with the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP)—the industry’s only 100-percent open source Hadoop distribution, explicitly architected, built, and tested for enterprise-grade deployments—PSSC Labs will work to accelerate the deployment of a modern data architecture by enabling Hortonworks’ customers and partners the benefit from its industry leading enterprise server platform
The Big Data D12000 is the industry’s highest density server / storage platform, offering up to 12 x 3.5” hard disks (SATA / SAS) or 14 x 2.5” hard disks (SAS / SSD). The Big Data D12000 average power consumption is under 300 Watts. That represents nearly a 40 percent power savings compared to other server manufacturers. In addition, PSSC Labs is particularly interested in achieving the highest possible performance. Benchmarks show the Big Data D12000 can achieve sustained read / writes exceeding 150 MB/sec, a significant improvement over other server manufacturers. Put together, the Big Data D12000 lowers the total cost of ownership by reducing data center footprint and energy consumption.
“Hortonworks is such a strong part of the enterprise Hadoop community,” begins Alex Lesser, Vice President Sales & Marketing at PSSC Labs. “We are honored to be part of their Technology Partner Program.” The Big Data D12000 server is now proven compatible with the Hortonworks Data Platform.PSSC Labs is already working with several Fortune 500 companies to deploy the Big Data D12000 and integrate it with Hortonworks’ 100-percent open source Hadoop platform.
Hortonworks Data Platform was built by the core architects, builders and operators of Apache Hadoop and includes all of the necessary components to manage a cluster at scale and uncover business insights from existing and new big data sources. With a YARN-based architecture, HDP enables multiple workloads, applications and processing engines across single clusters with optimal efficiency. A reliable, secure and multi-use enterprise data platform, HDP is an important component of the modern data architecture, helping organizations mine, process and analyze large batches of unstructured data sets to make more informed business decisions.
“Hortonworks is dedicated to expanding and empowering the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, accelerating innovation and adoption of 100-percent open source enterprise Hadoop,” said John Kreisa, vice president of strategic marketing at Hortonworks. “We welcome PSSC Labs to the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program. Their unique server platforms are already being deployed in Apache Hadoop environments and we look forward to deepening our relationship to help joint customers achieve even greater performance from their big data deployments.”
