(Sevatec) announced today that the firm has earned the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 20000-1:2011 certification for their service management system (SMS), as well as the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for their information security management system (ISMS). Based on International Standards developed by the ISO and IEC, Sevatec’s ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 and 27001:2013 certifications demonstrate that the firm’s integrated process approach to deliver managed services and manage information security align with industry best practices and global standards.
Sevatec achieved the certifications on July 7, 2014 after an extensive review conducted by International Standards Certifications (ISC), an independent accreditation body. For the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification, Sevatec was evaluated based on requirements for planning, establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving a service management system. The ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification recognizes Sevatec’s ability to design, transition, deliver and improve services to fulfill requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).
The ISO 27001:2013 standard provides IT-related security management system controls that help satisfy the requirements of many security-related regulatory standards. Sevatec was evaluated for this certification based on requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an ISMS. The certification preserves the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, and ensures customers that information security risks are proactively managed.
