Exchange Scout will help organize and plan your migration to Office 365; it will list and find all permissions, group memberships, forwarding, and reverse permissions to the mailboxes in your organization.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) July 31, 2014
MessageOps, the leader in Office 365 cloud migration and management tools, is proud to introduce their newest offering – Exchange Scout, the premier exchange mailbox permissions and membership tool.
“Exchange Scout will help organize and plan your migration to Office 365; it will list and find all permissions, group memberships, forwarding, and reverse permissions to the mailboxes in your organization. This will allow you to ensure all necessary permissions and memberships are retained for the transition to Office 365, while also enabling you to perform cleanup of your environment to make the migration easier and more cost-effective.” stated Victor Bourguet, one of MessageOps lead engineers.
Using Exchange Scout, administrators will finally have a full report on their current exchange environments; and the ability to have clean scripting for Office 365, which can be replicated perfectly after your migration.
Victor Bourguet also stated that Office 365 Migration Engineers and Exchange Administrators will greatly appreciate that the scripts are created as .csv files directly in Exchange Scout; and by using these files, they will be able to apply the permissions directly to their new Office 365 environment - a huge time saver!
How it Works
Exchange Scout will do a complete inventory of your on-premise Exchange environment and output a .csv file of all:
· Permissions on an object
· Permissions an object has to other objects
· Distribution groups
· Members of each distribution group
· Groups an object belongs to
· Forwarding’s set in the environment
These .csv files can even be viewed within Exchange Scout when it is run on a server that does not have Excel installed.
Advanced troubleshooting is another key benefit to using Exchange Scout. Running Exchange Scout before the migration reveals current issues within your company’s system set-up including: obsolete or unused mailboxes, invalid mailbox permissions, and outdated group member accesses. Adjusting these problems prior to your Office 365 migration will generate clean and clear PowerShell scripts for recreating groups, group memberships, and permissions in your new, cloud-based environment.
“We have listened to our clients,” said Chris Pyle, of MessageOps. “They have asked us to help them to better prepare for the migration to Office 365. Exchange Scout, along with our very successful Exchange Migrator tool, is the winning combination our clients have been asking for.”
