Columbus, OH (PRWEB) July 31, 2014
Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services (OPRS) announced that effective August 1, 2014, The Sarah Moore Health Care Center, Inc. (Sarah Moore HCC) has joined its family of communities by a change in ownership control. The not-for-profit Sarah Moore HCC was established in 1892 as a home for the aged. Over the years, the Sarah Moore HCC has grown and developed an excellent reputation for high-quality assisted living and skilled nursing care.
"The Sarah Moore HCC has been an integral part of the Delaware community for many years … as times have changed, so has Sarah Moore. We have transformed from a home for widows to a skilled nursing center and assisted living residence. What has not changed is the loving family atmosphere Sarah Moore has provided as its signature identity," commented Sarah Moore HCC Board of Governors President Debbie Martin.
"As we look at the future of health care, Sarah Moore HCC is continuing to change. We are proud to be affiliated with OPRS. OPRS shares our dedication to the health and well-being of our residents. They hold a similar philosophy of providing quality care that shows respect for the residents in a loving community," continued Martin. "This affiliation will allow us to stay abreast of the changes in Medicare and Medicaid, strengthening our financial base while improving and expanding services to those in our care."
OPRS is headquartered in Columbus and serves more than 73,000 people annually through its wholly owned subsidiaries OPRS Communities and Senior Independence. OPRS Communities operates 12 retirement communities (including The Sarah Moore HCC). Senior Independence Home Health & Hospice provides home and community based services, operates 10 adult day centers and manages six senior centers, in partnership with local governments. In addition, Senior Independence services are extended nationwide through its iPartners. Another wholly owned subsidiary, the OPRS Foundation raises several million dollars annually to support charity care, special programs, capital expansion and endowment.
"Working with the Board and key leaders at Sarah Moore HCC over the past several months, it is clear we share a similar culture and strong set of values predicated on a high commitment of quality and service excellence. We are excited about bringing Sarah Moore HCC into our family and honored to partner with the residents, their families, staff and the Sarah Moore HCC Board as we assist them with their mission in Delaware County," said OPRS President/CEO Laurence C. Gumina.
