Milestone Demonstrates Meteorcomm’s Commitment to Meet the Demand for PTC Radios

“Together with our customers, we have created a fully integrated and interoperable nationwide digital railroad network,” said Meteorcomm's CEO Robert Turnbull.

Meteorcomm LLC has announced its recent shipment of the 20,000th Interoperable Train Control Radio. The radios provide fundamental data communication technology for the railroads’ implementation of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems.

An integral part of the Meteorcomm solution to PTC communications, the 220 MHz PTC radio uses ITCnet® to help railroads communicate status between locomotives, waysides, and back offices, advancing railroad interoperability.

The 20,000 unit milestone demonstrates Meteorcomm’s commitment to supply field-tested radios in volume. More than ten railroad companies have begun deploying the radios and back office messaging system, including Class Is, Commuters, and Short Lines.

“We continue to demonstrate the ability to meet the demand of the rail industry and commitments to our customers with on-time delivery and high quality products,” said Meteorcomm’s CEO Robert Turnbull. “Together with our customers, we have created a fully integrated and interoperable nationwide digital railroad network.”

The nation’s railroads continue to rely on Meteorcomm to meet their PTC communications needs and deployment schedules.
