At 96 years-young, Tao Porchon-Lynch is truly living proof of the effectiveness of a life-long yoga practice. A yoga teacher for over 45 years, she includes in her current life’s incarnations: French resistance fighter, model, actress, screenwriter, producer, championship ballroom dancer, wine connoisseur—the list goes on. Tao’s workshops are interlaced with inspiring life stories from her childhood in India and her years of study with many of India's Yoga masters. Her presence and words inspire deep compassion and inner peace.
Tao was also gracious enough to give The Lodge at Woodloch an ode to the property’s private lake, Little Lake Teedyuskung Meditation.

Outdoor Vinyasa Flow, 3:00 pm on the Firecircle Patio
Enjoy this Garden Weekend special offering of Outdoor Vinyasa Flow with The Lodge at Woodloch Yogi, Alicia Shook. Vinyasa Flow is a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, linking smooth body movements with breath. Challenging postures will be used to help build endurance, flexibility and strength.
Alicia Shook received her certification in personal training and Pilates in 2005 and yoga training from The Dharma Mittra School of Yoga Raleigh, NC in 2006. She has worked at The Lodge since 2006. Her yoga style is traditional vinyasa, but she is greatly influenced by the physical demands of Ashtanga and spiritual teachings of Jivamukti.

The Great Wall of Yoga, 2:00 pm in the Linden Studio
The Great Wall of Yoga is one of The Lodge’s newest and most popular classes featuring Yogi, Blake France. The Great Wall of Yoga is an off-the-wall class which uses gravity and adjustable straps to help open the spine and develop strong core muscles.
Blake began teaching dance at The Lodge in 2009. She holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an M.A. in Dance from the University of Illinois-Urbana and is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York City. Blake was an Assistant Professor of Dance at the University of Southern Mississippi before returning to New York and following a professional career as a dancer in Musical Theatre in NYC, regional theatres and on tour across the United States.
