As exploration activity in shale and tight-resource plays emerges around the continent, Australia’s need for hydraulic fracturing services and technical expertise continues to grow. Hart Energy, in partnership with its new energy information franchise, Oil and Gas Investor Australia, is hosting the 2nd DUG Australia conference and exhibition scheduled for 26-28 August 2014 at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane, Queensland.

The conference offers a half-day Hydraulic Fracturing workshop on Tuesday, 26 August for an additional cost of U. S. $595. Industry experts will share lessons learned leveraging this technology in North American shale plays and discuss how this technology can be leveraged to unlock Australia’s vast unconventional resource plays. Topics set to be covered include: designing effective completions, proppant solutions, and microseismic technologies. The workshop includes access to a luncheon and reception, allowing attendees several opportunities to network with technical specialists and industry experts. As a dual value for workshop attendees also attending the DUG Australia conference, several presenters will discuss their experiences with this trending technology.

Workshop speakers addressing hydraulic fracturing in unconventional resource plays include:

  •     Daniel Kalinin, Stimulation Technical Manager, Schlumberger
  •     Adam Sommerfeld, Principal Stimulations Engineer, QGC
  •     Mike Zuber, Director, Unconventional Resources Technology Integration Group, Schlumberger
