Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) August 08, 2014

Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) is pleased to announce a new Principal Licensure program, designed for educators who are interested in leading the future of education in their schools, districts, and communities. The 100% online program is approved by the State of Colorado and aligns with both the Interstate Leader’s Licensure Consortium’s national standards and the Colorado Principal Licensure Standards.

“Being a principal, vice principal, or school administrator is a challenging and complex career, but it is also very rewarding and inspiring,” said Dr. Jon Bellum, Provost and Senior Vice President of CSU-Global. “We’re excited to begin offering a program that prepares teachers and other educators for a role in the dynamic future of teaching and learning.”

The Education Leadership program is available as a standalone licensure program or as a concentration within CSU-Global’s Master of Science in Teaching and Learning. Both versions include a program-long internship that allows students to apply the principles they learn in practical academic settings. In addition to instructional leadership and effective school management, the program teaches students to apply their academic vision through community collaboration, integrity, and educational context.

“There is currently an invigorating energy around preparing school leaders in Colorado and beyond,” said Dr. Joe Petrone, CSU-Global’s Dean of the School of Professional Studies. “We are eager to deliver a principal licensure program that is characterized by the authentic contexts, rigorous and relevant content, and practical learning opportunities future principals require.”

Applications are now being accepted for the Educational Leadership Principal Licensure program and for the concentration within the university’s online master’s degree in Teaching and Learning. Classes start again in September and every four weeks year round. Students should contact an Enrollment Counselor at 1-800-920-6723 or Admissions(at)CSUGlobal(dot)edu to confirm that this licensure program is available and recognized in their state.
