The PL14 seismoelectric technology is used specifically for oil and gas exploration and sees beneath the ground anywhere between 6,000 ft. to 10,000 ft. depending on the geologic conditions of the survey site. “While we only planned to provide a simple demonstration of the PL14’s ability on this trip we ended up confirming an area in Okmulgee, OK that was not a potential drill site and another in the San Antonio, TX area that was a potential drill site at just over 6,000 feet deep"-Ervin Kraemer. In late May of this year Ervin Kraemer of PetroLocate used the PL14 to detect a 1450m deep oil reserve which only produces 6 barrels of oil a day and most recently the technology displayed the ability to see the oil reserves at a far greater depth with additional tests in new areas. Mr. Kraemer filed for a patent of the new oil exploration technology in late 2013 and the pending patent was officially published this spring (Patent Pending Pub. No.: US 2014/0111207 A1). The technology will be on display at the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference later this month in Colorado.
