CHERRY HILL, NJ (PRWEB) August 13, 2014
AmeriQuest Business Services, a technology-enabled provider of procurement, financial management software and services, and fleet asset management services, today announced that it has awarded its annual Traffic Safety Scholarship to Ahsan Zahid of Milpitas, CA. Mr. Zahid, who recently graduated from Milpitas High School, wrote the winning essay regarding driverless, automated cars. This topic is of great interest to AmeriQuest due to its specialization in the transportation industry. The company required students answer the following question:
Citing current information on driverless cars and the ways this technology would change the culture, indicate whether you see this as a positive or negative change, and why. Use this as an opportunity to discuss how current technology has changed the culture and how this next iteration would change it even more.
Mr. Zahid’s insightful essay discusses the "disruptive innovation" phenomenon, which looks at how the creation of one industry often leads to the collapse of another. He ultimately concludes that “driverless cars mean safer roads, accessible transportation, and a greater grip on life than on the steering wheel.”
The AmeriQuest Traffic Safety Scholarship was created to help offset the increasing cost of higher education and is open to all currently enrolled full-time college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, as well as college-bound, U.S. high school seniors.
AmeriQuest Business Services thanks all the participants who made submissions to the program and wishes them well in their endeavors.
