After six weeks and several hundred submissions from all over the world, 12 finalists from 12 countries have been shortlisted and their designs are now open to public vote in the LELO UnDesign Awards.

LELO, a Swedish Design brand, challenged designers with a theme based on intimacy, and how it can be created through the deconstruction of conventional design motifs.

It was a tough concept, and one that sparked creative ingenuity from all corners of the international design community. The results have been staggering, with hundreds of designers submitting ideas for consideration, and from those hundreds just 12 have been shortlisted for the public to view and vote.

The 12 finalists come from:

  • Italy
  • Spain
  • France
  • Austria
  • Czech Republic
  • USA
  • Slovakia
  • Switzerland
  • South Africa
  • Iran
  • Columbia
  • Egypt

Since the UnDesign Awards are all about interconnectedness, anyone can become a judge and cast their vote for the winning design, alongside a panel of international design experts working alongside LELO.

The annual UnDesign Awards, now in its second year, was launched by the world leaders in pleasure and intimacy, Swedish-based design brand LELO. The ambition is to energize and inspire people to look again at the way design and technology has the potential to erode our concept of human connectedness. This year saw more than double the amount of entrants as last year’s design award, and up for grabs for the winner, as chosen by the public in collaboration with the expert panel, is $3000 and a cache of LELO pleasure products.

LELO now want the online community to browse the shortlist and pick their winners. Registration is simple, quick and easy, and it could help change a designer’s life.
