As leaders in safety, we share a common goal: to reduce accidental injuries and deaths. This session discusses using risk assessment and the OSHA/ANSI standards to create safety sign systems aimed at reducing accidents and preventing liability exposure.
Milford, PA (PRWEB) August 14, 2014
Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety signs and safety labels, announced today its participation in the National Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association’s (VPPPA) 30th Annual National Conference to be held August 25 – 28, 2014 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. As one of the experts selected to lecture on the latest issues and trends facing safety, health and environmental professionals, Clarion CEO Geoffrey Peckham will present an educational session on OSHA/ANSI safety sign systems as an outcome of risk assessment.
Peckham, who serves as chair of both the ANSI Z535 Committee for Safety Signs and Colors and the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 145 – Graphical Symbols, will present on Monday, August 25 at 12:45 p.m. in a session titled, “A New and Powerful Risk Reduction Technique: Creating OSHA/ANSI Safety Sign Systems as an Outcome of Risk Assessment.”
“Many safety professionals aren’t aware of OSHA’s recent safety sign regulation changes – changes that move beyond the GHS initiative and effect nearly every industry. This session will explain how to use the new tools of risk assessment and the OSHA/ANSI standards to create safety sign systems aimed at reducing accidents and preventing liability exposure,” says Peckham. “As leaders in safety, we all share a common goal: to reduce accidental injuries and deaths. In this seminar, we’ll explore these two new tools and how they are practically applied, with the ultimate goal of creating safer work environments.”
Peckham’s background in the field includes more than two decades of experience in actively advancing safety communications. He has led and continues to lead both the U.S. and international efforts to harmonize standards in the area of safety signs, labels and markings; this includes contributing to the leadership and direction of ANSI, ISO, OSHA and NFPA safety codes.
