Cranbury, NJ (PRWEB) August 19, 2014

The Lynx Group™ announces the launch of Inside Pharmacy™, the only journal designed to guide the transformation of retail pharmacies into value-based, patient-centered, multistakeholder centers of primary care medicine. Inside Pharmacy™ informs the new retail pharmacy team—nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacy managers—of the clinical, business, and regulatory issues driving the retail clinics that are now part of a major transformation of the retail pharmacy and that offer patients access to affordable, quality care that augments the care provided by the traditional providers—primary care physicians and hospitals.

Don Dietz, RPh, MS, a nationally recognized thought leader and Editor-in-Chief of Inside Pharmacy™, says, “The emergence of clinics within the retail pharmacy space to support the current healthcare system will continue to drive patients, customers, and shoppers into the store. Inside Pharmacy™ will assist the new healthcare team responsible for their care and coordination with the rest of the provider network. This is a new, innovative journal for the whole pharmacy.”

As retail pharmacies transform into healthcare delivery centers, Inside Pharmacy™ provides a forum for pharmacists, chain headquarters, independent pharmacies, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to achieve professional success. Each issue of the journal will include resources that support the entire healthcare team inside the pharmacy, including how to attract, retain, and engage customers; answer patient questions on prevention and wellness, acute care diagnosis, and treatment; monitor and manage selected chronic conditions; and use the team’s training and capabilities to help transform patient care into a value-based process.

“The world is changing and I think only for the better,” Nancy J. Gagliano, MD, Chief Medical Officer, MinuteClinic, CVS Caremark, told Inside Pharmacy™. “There is enormous opportunity for retail pharmacies to become an important player in the healthcare delivery system.... Retail health can provide access for general primary care needs.”

Inside Pharmacy™ will provide a balanced, high-level overview of value-based health drivers—cost, quality, and access—and the impact of healthcare sector initiatives—clinical, business, and policy—that are reshaping pharmacists’ responsibilities to patients and other stakeholders. The information will focus on how these forces open new opportunities for the business growth of pharmacies.

According to John W. Hennessy, Publisher of Inside Pharmacy™, “The changes to the healthcare system are immense, emanating both from within the pharmacist community and the array of clinical, business, and policy stakeholders. The roles of every traditional healthcare stakeholder are being redefined, and their viability depends upon their ability to adapt to the sea change in the healthcare system.”

Inside Pharmacy™ will publish 6 times in 2014; mail to more than 77,000 pharmacy managers, clinical and retail pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants; and is accepting article submissions for 2014-2015. The official website of Inside Pharmacy™ is http://www.InsidePharmacyOnline.com.
