We celebrate Tim O’Donovan’s love of the footwear industry, the people who work in it and his 23 year commitment to Two Ten. - Neal Newman, President of Two Ten Footwear Foundation.
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) August 14, 2014
As part of Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s 75th anniversary and long-standing tradition of recognizing extraordinary philanthropic leadership within the footwear industry, the Foundation today announced that Tim O’Donovan, retired Chairman and CEO of Wolverine Worldwide, will be presented with the prestigious Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award.
O’Donovan actively served on the Two Ten Board for 23 years, including two years as its Chairman, and currently as the tri-chair of its Honorary Board. He has repeatedly demonstrated his charitable, civic and public service to the footwear community and has been the recipient of Two Ten’s highest honors, the AA Bloom Memorial Award (1995) and T. Kenyon Holly Memorial Award (2004) – both awards signifying outstanding humanitarian achievements. In 2009, the Tim and Karen O’Donovan Endowment Fund was established to provide financial assistance to footwear employees in times of need.
Philanthropy plays an important role in the O’Donovan family. In 2004, Tim and Karen founded the O’Donovan Family Foundation along with their two sons, Kevin and Ryan. Their funding priorities include children’s access to education, outdoor activities, the arts and medical care.
When asked about Two Ten and this prestigious award, O’Donovan responded, "I am humbled and very grateful to be nominated for the Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award. It has been a great source of pride to me and my family to be a multi-decade supporter of Two Ten as it has grown its services to those in our industry who are in need of our assistance."
“It’s incredibly fitting that during our 75th anniversary year, we celebrate Tim O’Donovan’s love of the footwear industry, the people who work in it and his 23 year commitment to Two Ten,” said Neal Newman, President of Two Ten Footwear Foundation.
“I am delighted Tim O’Donovan will receive Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award this year,” remarked Bob Campbell, Chairman and CEO of BBC International. “Everyone at Two Ten, and all across our industry, appreciates Tim’s generosity to our people, to our industry and to our industry's charitable foundation. In my book, there’s no finer individual, and no one more deserving of this recognition.”
The Bob Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. A special award presentation dinner for Tim and 300 specially invited guests and footwear executives, will precede an entirely fresh, new-look Two Ten gala event for 1,600 shoe people featuring interactive displays, lounge-style seating areas conducive to socializing, along with music, dancing, games, food and drinks.
