Voxy, Inc. to Present at 2014 New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NYS TESOL) Conference
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 18, 2014 -- Voxy, the education technology company that pioneered personalized and adaptive English language learning, announced today that it was accepted to present at the 44th annual NYS TESOL conference that will take place from November 14-15, 2014 at the Hilton Albany in Albany, New York.
The Pedagogy team at Voxy was selected to present a paper at NYS TESOL entitled “Evaluating the Impact of Blended Learning on Performance and Engagement.” The paper discusses Voxy’s Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) framework and how hybrid methodology can influence online instruction to accelerate learning and increase engagement. The findings will be presented by members of Voxy’s pedagogy team, Rebecca Jee and Gabriele O’Connor.
“At Voxy, we use the task-based language teaching framework to ensure maximal effectiveness and engagement,” said Katharine B. Nielson, Ph.D, chief education officer at Voxy. “This paper shows how we can prevent attrition issues that many e-learning and distance learning products experience through hybrid teaching methodology.”
“We are committed to providing our learners with the most effective and engaging learning experience possible,” said Paul Gollash, Voxy’s Founder and CEO. “We are proud to demonstrate the impact and efficacy of our teaching methodology, and we look forward to sharing these results with the greater community of language educators."
NYS TESOL is an association of professionals concerned with the education of English language learners at all levels of public and private education in New York State. The association focuses on classroom practices, research, program and curriculum development, employment, funding, and legislation.
