Using GFS, customers can quickly set up simple schemes to save time and effort by running rotations such as the Grandfather (monthly, to single tape), Father (weekly, to tape library), and for the Son (daily, to disk). And with easily customizable rotation schemes, businesses can take advantage of the single tape drive media management functionality to protect single tapes from overriding any existing data.
