SourceAmerica® announces U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) as an AbilityOne® Congressional Champion. SourceAmerica awards members of congress the AbilityOne Champion designation because they demonstrate support for the AbilityOne Program, which employs nearly 50,000 people, and associated nonprofit agencies through congressional actions.
“It is an honor to be recognized by SourceAmerica,” said Sen. Carper. “I always say the greatest thing you can do to help someone is to give them a job, and that is what the AbilityOne Program does for people with disabilities. I am proud of the work they do in Delaware and across the nation.”
Sen. Carper is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and has jurisdiction over the AbilityOne Program and other government operations, such as federal contracting.
