Parkulture co-founder, professional stuntman and parkour instructor, Jared “JJ” Woods, will be competing in the Las Vegas finals of NBC’s highest rated primetime extreme sports competition show, American Ninja Warrior. The show will premiere on local affiliates starting Monday, August 18th at 9PM and will rerun on the new Esquire Network starting Tuesday, August 19th at 8PM.
Woods who works as a professional stuntman and coach at the Miami Freerunning and Parkour Academy finished with the top time in the Miami finals and guaranteed himself a spot to compete in the Las Vegas finals.
“It feels amazing to know I’ll be competing in the finals with so many great athletes, I wouldn’t have been able to make it this far without all the support of my students, family and friends," Woods said, after finishing the Miami finals course.
Woods along with the other top 15 athletes from each of the five regions will face the Las Vegas finals course and try to earn the title of the first ever American Ninja Warrior by completing all 4 stages. Each stage combines obstacles that test competitors agility, strength, balance and mental toughness, progressively getting more difficult as they advance from stage to stage.
“It’s an honor, only 3 people have ever completed the course in its 20 years of existence.” Explained Woods, “No one gets there alone, if I complete all 3 stages it will be because of my students, they supported me the whole way.”
