Adding Lori to our team of IP specialists provides us with broader depth and enhances the strategic counsel we are able to offer to our clients in this area of the law.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 25, 2014
National law firm Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry announced today the addition of leading Intellectual Property attorney Lori Johnson as an equity shareholder in its Atlanta office.
Johnson previously was a partner in the Atlanta office of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP.
Johnson will represent and assist clients with IP portfolio establishment and landscape analysis, as well as due diligence for acquisitions and new product launches, and dispute resolution in the chemical area.
“We are excited to welcome Lori to Chamberlain Hrdlicka,” said Managing Shareholder Wayne A. Risoli. “Intellectual property protection is critical to today’s global, connected economy, and it is a major growth area for our firm. Adding Lori to our team of IP specialists provides us with broader depth and enhances the strategic counsel we are able to offer to our clients in this area of the law.”
A former patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Johnson is not only well-versed on the patent application process but also brings with her invaluable insight into the culture and procedures of the USPTO.
Johnson also possesses the technical expertise that is vital to helping idea-driven companies stay at the forefront of scientific and technological advances. After graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Johnson went on to focus her legal practice in the chemical patent arena. Today, her expertise includes consumer products, industrial chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, photochemistry, and beverage compositions.
“I’m very excited to join Chamberlain Hrdlicka,” Johnson said. “The quickly expanding IP group provides an excellent platform for delivering the highest-quality IP work in a cost-effective manner, allowing us to help clients large and small to protect and preserve their intellectual assets.”
“Lori is going to be an enormous asset for our practice,” said Collin Rose, practice leader of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s IP section. “Her level of institutional knowledge and technical expertise adds tremendous depth to our team.”
After earning her Chemical Engineering degree in 1986, Johnson went on to earn her J.D. with honors from George Washington University Law School in 1992. A Certified Patent Valuation Analyst, Johnson also travels the United States and Europe to lecture on the development and enforcement of U.S. intellectual property rights.
From 2003 to 2009, she served as resident managing partner of Finnegan's Brussels office.
