Clarity PSO remains a top Patient Safety Organization offering valuable and industry-leading patient safety expertise and services.

'We are proud and eager to continue our journey as a PSO and remain committed to working closely with the healthcare community on advancing the quality of our nation’s healthcare delivery.'

Clarity PSO, an operating division of Clarity Group, Inc., has been re-certified as a federal Patient Safety Organization (PSO) for another three-year period under the authority of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Clarity PSO will continue to provide valuable and industry-leading patient safety expertise and services following the true intentions of the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA) of 2005.

”We are proud and eager to continue our journey as a PSO and remain committed to working closely with the healthcare community on advancing the quality of our nation’s healthcare delivery. The benefits of the PSQIA are significant, and it is our mission to offer the industry’s leading capabilities through this important vehicle,” states Tom Piotrowski, Executive Director of Clarity PSO. “Since becoming one of the first PSOs six years ago, we have provided PSO services for providers across nearly every sector of healthcare. Our expertise and knowledge of how the PSQIA is intended to work and the protections and benefits it affords enable us to provide a level of consultation, service and quality of reporting to our clients that is second to none.”

Clarity PSO has been a trailblazer in the industry with patient safety activities that have yielded strong and positive results including hospital common format reporting, an ambulatory safety initiative and a variety of patient safety collaboratives. Most recently, Clarity PSO worked with the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine in the development of RO-ILS: Radiation Oncology Incident Learning System™, a new, national patient safety initiative to facilitate safer and higher quality care in radiation oncology.

As a national PSO accessible to all healthcare providers – regardless of size or discipline – our work is grounded in a commitment and passion to improve patient care across all health systems. Our clients gain access to insightful consulting, various analytical and benchmarking opportunities, case study review, a wide range of clinical educational topics, and resources for identification and implementation of evidence-based practices. We also work with a highly qualified Healthcare Advisory Council to provide service excellence in line with our company's more than 40 years of experience in the areas of modifying systems to enhance healthcare quality.

Clarity PSO looks forward to bringing more healthcare professionals together and advancing patient safety across the continuum of care. To learn more about our contributions to the PSO program, read our Five-Year Report to Healthcare Providers.
