Great Falls, MT (PRWEB) September 03, 2014
Kit Check™ (http://kitcheck.com), the leader in hospital pharmacy kit processing and medication tracking software, today announced that hospital users have tracked two million medications using the company’s RFID-based solution. The medication receiving RFID tag number two million was a vial of Dexamethasone created at Benefis Health System, a 516-bed hospital in Great Falls, Montana.
“It took 22 months for Kit Check to reach the first one million medications tracked with RFID in our cloud-based software, but only another six months to hit the two million mark. Kit Check has added over 50 hospitals since January and that has led to a rapid increase in the number of medications tracked each month. We expect to reach three million medications in October. The accelerating growth rate in new hospitals and medications tracked is a testament to the strong efficiency gains and improved patient safety that Kit Check provides to hospital pharmacies,” said Kit Check Co-founder and CEO Kevin MacDonald.
Kit Check Director of Product Management and Delivery Nick Petersen commented, “I really enjoyed being in Great Falls to celebrate the two millionth Kit Check medication tracked. Benefis was Kit Check’s fifth customer and has been using the solution for almost 18 months, so they have seen us grow and improve as much as anyone. It made sense for Benefis to use Kit Check, as automating the processing of around 30 trays a day saves hours of pharmacist time and improves kit accuracy, but we’re still extremely grateful they put their faith in us to help.”
