Galaxy Press attended Dragon*Con this past week in Atlanta, GA. Dragon*Con promotes itself as the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music and film in the universe and taking place over the Labor Day weekend. With over 75,000 fans in attendance over the convention’s four days, it most probably is the largest. Characters ranging from Chewbacca to the Mario Brothers were attracted by the full line of books by L. Ron Hubbard at the Galaxy Press booth. With the six-year program to republish the earlier works of fiction by L. Ron Hubbard coming to its completion, fans were easily drawn to a large assortment of colorful books which used the pulp fiction artwork from the stories original publication.
Strong demand for science and fantasy was to be expected from this show and this proved correct. Any title with even a hint of fantasy sold out. But, a surprisingly large contingent of aspiring writers were on hand who were equally drawn to the booth to find out more about the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future, and again resulting in all copies being sold.
Another change this year was a marked increase in demand for audiobooks by those who prefer to read an audiobook as part of their commute.
Stories from the Golden Age is a line of 80 books and multicast audiobooks written by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1930s and ‘40s during the heyday of America’s golden age of popular fiction and feature titles in all popular genres, ranging from science fiction, fantasy, mystery, adventure, western and even some romance. These titles are available online at Amazon.com, BN.com and where books are sold.
