New content to explore innovations in the motor vehicle industry.

Even though the vast majority of consumers across America own some type of motor vehicle for transportation, oftentimes there is very little thought as to how they are designed, manufactured, distributed, tested, and brought to market.

Automobile design and manufacturing can be a fascinating field, combining engineering, art, design, marketing and a number of other crafts in a single package to be shipped out to drivers around the world. What makes a great car design? What do drivers really look for? How do you efficiently manufacture and ship automobiles?

Within a new segment for Public Television, "Leading Edge" takes aim at these questions and more when this Jimmy Johnson-hosted program takes a look at the business, and the craft, of designing and manufacturing cars, trucks, motorcycles and everything in between.

Leading Edge is not associated with PBS. It's distributed directly to Public Television stations nationwide. For more info, please visit http://www.leadingedgeseries.com
