The recent announcement that Ericsson will integrate Guardtime technologies into their portfolio is transformative for cybersecurity, enabling real-time detection and response to APTs, malicious insiders and corrupt practices.
Washington D.C. (PRWEB) September 10, 2014
Guardtime USA today announced that 40-year Department of Defense veteran David Hamilton has been appointed Strategic Advisor to help proliferation of KSI technology in the US telecommunications industry protecting nationally strategic assets.
Mr. Hamilton served 29 years in uniform for the Air Force retiring in 2003 in the rank of Colonel. After a short stint in the private sector he then returned to the Department of Defense as a member of the Senior Executive Service as the Director of the Rapid Capabilities Office serving for 11 years until retirement in August 2014.
Throughout his career he was a leader in transitioning developing technologies into field-able national technical and strategic capabilities including large-scale prototyping and delivery of high technology weapons and support systems meeting critical Mission Assurance requirements. While most of his activities have been in the classified arena, notable acknowledged capabilities include the air defense system protecting the national capital and the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle.
Mr Hamilton will advise Guardtime on the strategic path to proliferate the advantages of KSI across the US telecommunications industry, with a focus on the future of protecting nationally strategic assets such as US industrial control systems, critical infrastructure, Aerospace and Engineering, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Energy and Mining, as well as Commercial Satellites and Drones for the evolution of US supply chain and transportation networks. The protection of these assets and networks, as well as the invaluable data they generate, is crucial to affording the United States the ability to compete in the global market.
Mr Hamilton will also play a key role in shaping technology strategy and standards internationally for KSI integrity products and programs as Guardtime commences its next phase of growth across a number of transformative initiatives including Cloud, Post-Quantum Identity Management, Connected Vehicles, Mobility, Big Data, Defense and Trusted Computing and Storage.
Commenting on his appointment Mr. Hamilton said: “The recent announcement that Ericsson will integrate Guardtime technologies into their portfolio is transformative for cybersecurity enabling real-time detection and response to Advanced Persistence Threats (APTs), malicious insiders and corrupt practices. This functionality will be of immense value to even the most regulated industries including federal government who can benefit from the economics of cloud infrastructure while maintaining compliance, improved threat protection and native forensics capabilities. I am looking forward to advising the company as it seeks technology adoption opportunities across US industry and government."
Mike Gault, CEO, Guardtime said: "We are very pleased that David is joining the team as a Strategic Advisor. He is a proven expert in identifying transformative technologies and transitioning those technologies for deployment in mission critical real-time environments. His advice will be invaluable to us as KSI technology becomes a global standard for integrity, audit, compliance, identity management and security for the Industrial Internet.”
Matthew Johnson, CTO, Guardtime added: "I have been fortunate to work with David over the last 13 years and his experience will be invaluable to us as we work with our strategic partner Ericsson to support their cloud initiatives for Enterprise and Industrial Internet applications, bringing forward a new and fundamental form of cloud instrumentation."
