The new book, The Blue Ice Patrol, ($10.99, paperback, 9781498409872; $5.99, e-book, 9781498409889) begins on one seemingly average summer day when three boys make the discovery of a lifetime. Who could possibly forget the instance that the blue ice fell from the sky, and into their hands? From that day forward, life would never be the same in the region of Lake Papakeechie. Al Shifflett pens a timeless tale that ultimately serves to teach the lesson that, in the author’s words, “no matter how deep the mess you’re in, God can still get you out of it!”
“My years of pastoral experience, coupled with growing up with three brothers and not much money, have taught me that happiness and fun is an element missing in our homes today,” states the author. “This book—in the midst of our drug crazed, tense society—seeks to bring joy back, and to make the reader feel as if it had never gone away
