Alchemy a food industry leader for services and technology to enhance the global workforce saw great success with their annual User Group, which took place at the Hilton Austin Downtown September 9-11. The event included breakout sessions hosted by Alchemy customers including companies like National Beef, Maple Leaf Foods, and Dawn Foods discussing topics ranging from HACCP principles, handling unannounced audits, to culture change.

The event is Alchemy’s opportunity to share the latest developments including the addition of a tablet application called Coach, new consulting services, and Alchemy’s expansion into the retail grocery market in partnership with Food Marketing Institute (FMI). The conference allowed customers the opportunity to share with one another their best practices for utilizing Alchemy’s tools while giving feedback on their needs as the industry evolves. Alchemy’s tools address inherent risks in the food supply chain and the increasingly complex regulatory requirements the food industry must meet – each company’s journey is unique and a forum for learning is User Group’s primary goal. One common trend communicated by all throughout the conference was a shift from simple classroom training for workforce development to methods of coaching employees for ensured comprehension of important concepts while performing internal audits to drive continuous improvements.
