Klement's Sausage Races

Klement's Sausage Races are a crowd favorite at Heidel House Resort & Spa.

The ceremonial blessing of the beer keeps the excitement going as the sausages prepare for their main event.

Slip on those polka dancing shoes and get ready to raise your beer steins. The fifth annual Oktoberfest at Heidel House Resort & Spa will take place in the Carriage Tent and surrounding grounds from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Heidel House Resort & Spa, managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, has a festive schedule prepared for this year. In addition to mouth-watering schnitzel and other German fare, Oktoberfest goers can look forward to a selection of Oktoberfest beverages, live polka music and contests and activities.

Hayes Boys Orchestra, a seven-piece band playing traditional German polka music, will kick off the day at 2 p.m. Then, Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages™, joining us from Miller Park, will begin their practice-heat.

The ceremonial blessing of the beer keeps the excitement going as the sausages prepare for their main event. The five Klement’s sausages will race along Heidel House Resort’s garden walking path. Don’t forget to pick your favorite!

Oktoberfest shenanigans continue as Tuba Dan takes the stage at 6 p.m. for the polka dancing contest, brat eating contest and Team Lachenspiel, a team relay game sure to garner more laughter. Before the night ends, someone will be crowned “best dressed” for their traditional outfit. At 9 p.m., the ever-popular Das Boot Relay will close out the night.

“Oktoberfest brings in a fun group of people each year,” said Scott Krause, general manager of Heidel House Resort & Spa. “We are going to put on quite a celebration and look forward to welcoming guests and neighbors to our fifth annual event.”

Heidel House Resort & Spa happily invites all to come, hoist their commemorative boots, link arms and take in the sights and sounds of Oktoberfest. No tickets or cover charge are required for this event.

Special room rates starting at $79 are available for Oktoberfest guests.
