It’s a juggling act taking care of two stores, three kids and our employees, but being a Kid to Kid owner gives me flexibility in my schedule.
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) September 30, 2014
Kid to Kid, a resale franchise that buys and sells children’s clothing, toys, and baby gear, is a growing company with locations found in many of the nation's top 25 cities for working parents. Kid to Kid store owners appreciate the ability to work around their children’s schedules, while making money and helping the community. The support and training received from the franchise office helps first-time business owners overcome some of the challenges common to owning a business, increasing their chances of success.
NerdWallet.com recently released a list of the top 25 cities for working parents based upon cost of living, child care costs, the quality of schools and ratio of households with children. Kid to Kid has store locations in 12 of the top 25 cities including: Gilbert, AZ; Plano, TX; Chandler, AZ, Garland, TX; Lexington, KY; Scottsdale, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Boise, ID; Arlington, TX; Raleigh, NC; Ft Worth, TX; and Anchorage, AK. “We’re hoping to expand into the other 13 cities soon, as Kid to Kid is a great fit in family oriented communities,” comments business development director Dave Martell.
Founded by a mom with six kids of her own, Kid to Kid was created as a place for parents to buy and sell items their children had outgrown. Shauna Sloan, founder of Kid to Kid, understood the challenges of being a busy working parent. She loved the treasures she found for her kids at yard sales, but didn’t love spending Saturday mornings driving from one sale to the next, or wasting a weekend sitting in the hot sun holding a yard sale of her own. “I pictured a store that had all the benefits of a yard sale, such as terrific bargains and quality products, where parents could buy and sell year round at times that were convenient to them," explained Sloan. "I wanted a way to facilitate sharing within the community and to help parents earn money for the things their kids had outgrown. It's recycling at its best!”
As a Kid to Kid franchise owner of a store in Plano, TX (one of the top 25 cities) and Frisco, TX and mother of triplets, Tracy Schwegman experiences the challenges and benefits of owning two stores while raising a family. “It’s a juggling act taking care of two stores, three kids and our employees, but being a Kid to Kid owner gives me flexibility in my schedule," said Schwegman. "So if there’s an event, field trip or doctor’s appointment, I can be there for my kids.”
