Elio Motors’ Nationwide Tour Connects with Consumers, Builds Relationships from Coast-to-Coast

October Tour Stops Scheduled for Southern California, New Mexico, Georgia and Alabama

Elio Motors provides a solution to many of the challenges facing our country today. Whether it is job creation, reducing dependence on foreign oil or helping the environment, the Elio will be an important part of the solution.

Elio Motors’ nationwide tour, which has already been to more than 80 cities in the past 21 months, today announced it will make October appearances at the Marine Air Corps Air Show in Miramar, California (Oct. 3-5); the Albuquerque, N.M., Balloon Fiesta (Oct. 8-12); and the Rome, Georgia Wings Over North Georgia Airshow (Oct. 17-19). The company will end October at a yet-to-be-determined location in Birmingham, Alabama (Oct. 24-26).

The Elio Motors tour has been an important building block for the company, as it gives people the opportunity to see, touch and feel how Elio Motors plans to revolutionize the transportation industry. The Elio, which is set to launch in 2015, will get up to 84 MPG and will retail for $6,800. To date, nearly 35,000 people have reserved a spot in line to purchase an Elio. Many of these people made their reservation after seeing the aerodynamically styled vehicle in person.
“The response to our tour stops has been amazing, as people are typically lined up a couple hundred deep to catch a glimpse,” said Paul Elio, founder and CEO of Elio Motors. “It’s one thing to read about the Elio or watch a video online. But, the tour stops have been instrumental in engaging our fans’ senses. To experience the vehicle up close and personal helps our team establish a much deeper connection with our fans. For me personally, it has been gratifying to watch people interact and fall in love with the vehicle.”

Elio Motors has wowed crowds at such major events as the Barrett Jackson Auto Show, the Sundance Film Festival, Daytona Beach Biker Week, Internet Week, Comic-Con and many more.

The Elio will be manufactured in Shreveport, Louisiana, in a former General Motors facility that manufactured the Hummer H3, creating 1,500 jobs. In addition, the Elio will use 90 percent North American content, creating another 1,500 jobs at its supplier partner companies. These manufacturing jobs will in turn create approximately 18,000 indirect jobs across the country.

In addition to job creation, the Elio Motors project will help provide a more environmentally friendly transportation solution for American drivers.

Elio sees multiple markets for the vehicle. For consumers who still need the occasional functionality of a pick-up truck, sport utility vehicle or minivan, he says the Elio is an “and” vehicle – purchase a larger vehicle for those times when you need the functionality, but use the Elio for solo commuter trips. For example, 76.3 percent of all commuters drive solo to work every morning according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Elio also sees potential in the current “clunker” market – millions of used vehicles that are low cost, but have low fuel efficiency and are prone to breaking down. At 84 MPG and $6,800 with a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty, Elio believes many clunker owners will jump at the opportunity to purchase a new Elio. Other potential markets include high school and college students and first-time buyers.

The tour also has stops scheduled for Las Vegas, New Orleans, South Carolina, Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia before the end of the year. Fans can check http://www.eliomotors.com for tour updates.
