Higher One, a leader in providing financial services and data analytics to more than 1,900 college and university campuses across the U.S., has opened submissions for its annual Money on My Mind contest, asking students to submit a video about their money management challenges and the strategies they implement to overcome them.

Up to ten winning videos will be chosen and featured on Higher One’s One for Your Money blog, with each featured video winner receiving a cash prize and the grand prize winner receiving $2,000.

To enter, Higher One invites students to submit a two-minute video via YouTube or Vimeo addressing the following questions:

  • What is the number one major money management challenge you face or did face as a student?
  • What are some strategies you use to help you overcome these challenges?
  • How does having a bank account help you manage your money?
  • What’s your biggest money management recommendation for a new college student?

“Higher One is committed to providing students with resources that provide real-world money management strategies,” said Mary Johnson, Financial Literacy and Student Aid Policy Director at Higher One. “Our Money on My Mind contest encourages students to share personal experiences and advice in a peer-to-peer format—which is a very helpful way to share financial knowledge.”

In addition to video submissions, students who submit comments on the One for Your Money blog will be entered to win prizes. An archive of winning submissions from last year’s contest can be viewed on the One for Your Money blog.

Higher One offers innovative student banking services based on choice and has dedicated resources to financial literacy including its Financial Literacy Counts grant program for colleges and universities and the One For Your Money blog dedicated to the fundamentals of finances for college students.
