Jamboree Housing Corporation announced that George F. Searcy has been hired as Vice President of the Resident Services Group to oversee the company’s extensive programming that provides its residents with social, employment, education and health services designed to enhance the quality of individual and family life.

Prior to joining Jamboree, Searcy served in the dual role of Executive Director for the Hope Through Housing Foundation and Executive Vice President for National Community Renaissance (National CORE), one of the nation’s largest affordable housing nonprofits with developments in several states. From 2005 to 2014, Searcy was responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies to provide evidence-based, best-practice health, human, and social services for lower-income populations in low-income neighborhoods in several states.
Searcy currently serves on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health in San Bernardino County, CA. This effort is aimed at creating a sustainable, metrics-driven, public health funding model to help innovate the funding of non-traditional interventions in community development. Other partners are the County of San Bernardino Public Health Department, Loma Linda University Health, and the nonprofit Partners for Better Health.
From 1987 to 2005, Searcy was Community Services Superintendent for the City of Irvine, CA, where he served as liaison with 10 nonprofit organizations and managed to diversify the city’s social services programs. During his tenure, he oversaw an operation that included the city’s after-school programs, senior center programs, paratransit programs, capital development projects, child care/child development, and geriatric social work services. He also developed and managed services for families in crisis, at-risk youth, programs for frail seniors, and residents with medical disabilities.
His resume also includes a term as a consultant with Red Mountain Retail Group where he assisted with community relations and analysis of mixed-use development, redevelopment and affordable housing projects. He has also served clinical psychology internships with various agencies that provide counseling to low-income and at-risk populations including Human Options, a highly respected nonprofit that serves victims of domestic violence in Orange County, CA as well as the Turning Point Center for Families in Santa Ana, CA where he provided clinical treatment for adults, adolescents and children dealing with psychological disorders.
Searcy holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles and a master’s degree in business management from the University of Redlands. He received his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, and has completed specialized education programs through the Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute.
