The app includes a “booking engine” which takes a user through the process of booking a comp for either a sale or a lease and includes any commissions that are part of the deal. It allows for commission splits and holdbacks and uses the information entered to generate invoices which can then be directly emailed to clients without leaving the app.
Apto’s back office platform was designed with brokerage accounting needs in mind. “Objects are structured in a similar fashion to traditional accounting systems that brokerage accounting staff may have previously used,” said Yuva Loganathan, Apto Product Manager. “The advantage of using Apto is that commission and accounting are tied together and related to comps in the system.”
Multiple invoice types are supported including standard sale invoice, standard lease invoice and, in instances where the commission is collected as the rent comes due, recurring lease invoice. The booking engine allows users to enter partial payments, allocate payments to multiple invoices and also assign a portion of payment towards participating agents’ gross commission.
Apto’s back office platform can be purchased with CRM and pipeline tracking and is also available as a stand-alone product. With the addition of a back office product, commercial real estate firms can now manage their contacts, companies, properties, pipeline, and accounting within Apto, saving time for both brokers and operations staff.
