SDW 2014 cements its place at the centre of the secure document and identity industry

Organised by Science Media Partners, and celebrating its eighth anniversary, SDW 2014 continued to surpass all expectations, attracting conference delegates, exhibition visitors, sponsors and exhibitors from across the globe. SDW 2015 exhibition now almost sold out.

•    SDW 2014 attracted 1609 participants over three days.

  •     Multi-national event drew attendees from 65 countries.
  •     16% of total participants from national governments/law enforcement agencies.
  •     105 exhibitors on the exhibition floor – selling out London’s premier Conference and Exhibition venue.
  •     Just seven exhibition stands remain for SDW 2015 (9-11 June 2015).

Held at the height of the English summer, SDW 2014, the world's leading next-generation government and citizen identity conference and exhibition continued to demonstrate its importance to the secure document and identity industry, once again breaking attendance records and consolidating its place on the industry’s calendar as ‘the must-attend event’.

Organised by Science Media Partners, and celebrating its eighth anniversary, the show continued to surpass all expectations, attracting conference delegates, exhibition visitors, sponsors and exhibitors from across the globe.

The quality and quantity of attendees was a key factor for the 105 exhibiting companies. More than 1,600 attendees were present over the three-day event, a rise of 4% compared with 2013. This figure is all the more impressive as attendance at the 2013 event was boosted by more than 100 participants at SDW InterOp – SDW’s inaugural ePassport interoperability testing event, which was not held in 2014. Underlying growth was therefore greater than 10%.

SDW continues to have global appeal, with representatives travelling from 65 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australasia. More than 66% of attendees participated from outside the UK. An impressive 15.7% of attendees to the show represented government and/or law enforcement organizations, comprising more than 250 individuals from 30 countries.

Mark Lockie, SDW Event Director, commented, "The SDW 2014 event once again surpassed all previous records. The exhibition has now broadened its appeal to the entire security document community, allowing customers to experience the full range of technologies and features that go into making a secure document fit for the 21st century and, of course, the associated identity infrastructure. Meanwhile, the conference moved from strength to strength, expanding to the QEII's largest available space in order to meet demand."

Reflecting the event's continued success, with more than eight months still to go, 90% of the exhibition floor has already been sold for SDW 2015, which will be held on 9-11 June 2015, at the newly-redeveloped QEII conference centre in the heart of London's Westminster district.

For 2015, 110 exhibitors and an event attendance exceeding 1750 is the target, while the major conference themes will be announced along with a call for speakers in the coming weeks.

Commenting on plans for SDW 2015, Mark Lockie added; “Preparations for our 2015 edition of SDW are now well underway with more than 90 exhibitors already booked in for next June. We will be releasing our Call for Speakers shortly, and will be announcing a special programme to attract even more government customers.”
