ITA Board Member Yvonne Scott Recognized as CIO of the Year by Executives’ Club of Chicago

Crowe Horwath CIO and long-time ITA member honored for leadership in driving business value and technological innovation, business partnerships and creating best in class workplace for IT professionals.

The Information Technology Alliance (ITA), an independent professional association of accounting firms, technology consultants and technology vendors to the profession, announced today that The Executives’ Club of Chicago has awarded Yvonne Scott, Crowe Horwath CIO and ITA Board of Directors member, with its 2014 CIO of the Year award. The award was presented to Ms. Scott at the Executives’ Club’s annual awards luncheon in Chicago, attended by more than 700 business leaders.

Since 1998, The Executives' Club of Chicago, together with The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and Society of Information Management Chicago (SIM), has recognized technology leaders with the CIO of the Year Award. Selection considers leadership in driving business value and technological innovation, business partnerships and creating best in class workplace for IT professionals.

Ms. Scott has served as CIO at Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States, for the last six years. One of her most notable accomplishments was the conceiving of and delivering of the firm's external client portal - a secure, internet-based document gathering and collaboration tool.

Ms. Scott’s team at Crowe Horwath was also awarded the SIM and AITP Most Effective IT Team of the Year Award in 2012. The award recognizes the accomplishments of those reporting directly to the CIO, and nominated teams were judged and awarded points in the areas of cost effectiveness, innovation, change leadership, value creation, service quality and community service.
