10 Gigabit speed lights up Internet for local businesses

Veracity Networks, Utah’s leading provider of business-grade Internet and phone services, today announced the successful launch of a 100 Gigabit backbone fiber optic network with 10 Gigabit delivery speeds for business users in Utah. The project was completed in record time as more than 100 miles of fiber optic cable were laid in eight months, an undertaking that would typically take two years to complete.

“With help from some key partners, especially Bank of American Fork, S&P Trenching and Americom— and through more than 11,000 hours of overtime work from our dedicated team—we beat our goal to make this network available by the end of summer,” said Veracity Networks CEO Drew Peterson. “Now businesses on the network enjoy Internet speeds that have been impossible to comprehend until now.”

Veracity migrated more than 700 current customers to the new network, including Nu Skin Enterprises, Brigham Young University, Xactware and Vivint. The undertaking required raising $10 million of investment capital, with Bank of American Fork as the lead sponsor.

Veracity’s fiber optic network offers bandwidth of 10 Gigabits to business customers, virtually eliminating load times and delays across every Internet-based service, from video streaming to SaaS applications. Veracity installs carrier grade customer premise equipment allowing for best-of-class network routing backed by an aggressive service level agreement.

“We are thrilled to have fiber in our office and are astounded by the speed,” said Greg J. Heiner of United Insurance Group. “Veracity has always been wonderful to work with, but this new service raises the bar even higher. Our new levels of network speed and reliability are dramatically increasing our productivity.”
