Stamford, CT (PRWEB) October 27, 2014
ONE World Sports, America’s Network for Global Sports, will provide exclusive buzzer-to-buzzer U.S. TV coverage when the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season kicks off November 1 with the Guangdong Southern Tigers, featuring rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay in his much-anticipated professional debut, facing the CBA champion Beijing Ducks, led by former New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury.
A top-ranked NBA Lottery Draft prospect from Dallas, 19-year-old phenom Mudiay surprised the basketball world when he opted for a reported $1.2 million one-year deal with the CBA over a scholarship at SMU playing for legendary coach Larry Brown.
Then, on November 5, the Liaoning Dinosaurs face the Sichuan Blue Whales. The Dinosaurs feature newly signed guard Lester Hudson, who made NCAA history during the 2007-8 season as the first player to record a quadruple-double in a Division I men's college game, later racking up a triple-double, eight additional double-doubles and cracking the 30-point plateau 11 times during his rookie season in the NBA, where he played for four teams. The Blue Whales feature the longtime NBA forward formerly known as Ron Artest, later Metta World Peace, and now calling himself “The Pandas Friend.”
Longtime MSG network announcer Mike Crispino and former college basketball assistant coach turned basketball analyst Vin Parise will announce Saturday's game live from the ONE World Sports Broadcast Center in Stamford, CT. Among other roles during his career, Crispino is the radio play-by-play announcer for the New York Knicks. Parise, a former assistant coach at Iona, Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson, has served as a college basketball analyst for NBC Sports, Fox Sports 1, MSG Network and other outlets.
Video clips from these and select other key CBA match-ups will be available shortly after the games air, at http://goo.gl/bGM0Ot.
In July 2014, ONE World Sports announced that it secured a multiyear extension with Infront Sports & Media, the CBA’s exclusive global marketing partner, to exclusively telecast CBA games in the United States and Canada for the next three seasons across all media platforms. The network’s multiplatform coverage includes two games per week during the regular season, the CBA All-Star game and all post-season competition, including the CBA Championship Finals series.
The 20-team CBA, founded in 1995, is considered one of the world’s premier men’s basketball leagues. ONE World Sports was the first network to deliver regular-season U.S. television exposure of the CBA to American sports fans in 2011.
