On Saturday, November 15, 2014 the South Florida community will have the opportunity to walk at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale, in support of finding a cure for blinding retinal diseases.

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, the south Florida community will have the opportunity to walk at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale, in support of finding a cure for blinding retinal diseases. According to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, diseases such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome are currently affecting more than 10 million Americans.

Since 2006, VisionWalk, the Foundation’s signature 5K fundraising program, surpassed the $30 million mark, with more than 50 annual walkathons engaging 100,000 people in the fight against blindness driving the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
