Harlem Heights is a neighborhood in Lee County that is home to many children and families living below the poverty line. In an effort to assist this community, AdvantaIRA Trust is helping collect turkey, chickens, and canned food for the Heights Center’s annual Thanksgiving Bountiful Blessings Outreach.

The Heights Center has been helping families in the Harlem Heights neighborhood make a Thanksgiving meal since 1999. There are over a thousand people that live in the community and more than 300 households. The foundation’s mission is to support education and wellness, promote family and community development, and to provide the benefits of enrichment and the arts in the Harlem Heights neighborhood.

Advanta IRA believes active community involvement and giving is crucial to building strong communities. The company frequently donates to different local charitable organizations in an effort to facilitate this belief. This Thanksgiving, they are proud to assist the foundation in providing a good Thanksgiving meal to the families of Harlem Heights. “Every year we hold a food drive like this; We are thankful that our families, friends, and clients assist us by donating themselves,” says Dave Owens, managing partner of AdvantaIRA Trust. “When everyone pitches in and becomes involved in helping others in our community, we can truly make a positive difference in the lives of others.”

Advanta IRA invites everyone to help make that difference this year by donating non-perishable items that benefit Harlem Heights Center’s Thanksgiving meal outreach program.

Items needed this season:

  •     Turkeys or chickens
  •     Cranberry sauce
  •     Yams
  •     Green beans

Please note that quantities of corn and stuffing have been reached and are not needed at this time.

All items can be dropped off until 2:00 pm on November 21, at AdvantaIRA Trust, 1520 Royal Palm Square Boulevard, Suite 320, Fort Myers, Florida. The staff at Advanta IRA will deliver the donations at the end of that day.
