HealthCare Chaplaincy Network (HCCN) announced today that Carol Steinberg, a long-time nonprofit executive, has joined the national organization as executive vice president of business development.

In leading the business development team, Steinberg is charged with advancing HCCN’s portfolio of programs and services through new collaborations and other outreach to meet the public’s growing need for spiritual care in health care settings and online.

“We are excited that Carol Steinberg is joining HealthCare Chaplaincy Network at this significant juncture in the organization’s evolution,” said Rev. Eric J. Hall, HCCN’s president and CEO. “Her executive leadership experience, expertise, and strong understanding of today’s health care environment will help guide and grow HCCN, as we aggressively move forward to provide spiritual-related education, research and information to both professionals and the public.”

Prior to joining HCCN, Steinberg served as a top executive at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) since its founding more than a decade ago and helped build it into a leading national nonprofit organization. As executive vice president and later president, she played a major role in developing and securing funding for AFA’s nationally-recognized programs and services aimed at improving quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and their families, and in raising awareness of the cause.

Previously, she was an award-winning journalist who regularly contributed to The New York Times, Success magazine, Long Island Jewish World, and other publications.
