The 7th Annual Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest will kick off tonight at the 5-Star Acqualina Resort and Spa (17875 Collins Avenue) with performances by Jonny Loew and Marty Kaye. For information about the dinner and tickets call 305.918.6860.
The main event takes place Saturday night, November 15 from 7-10 pm, at Heritage Park (19200 Collins Avenue). Local, talented jazz vocalists Brenda Alford, Rochelle Lightfoot, and LeNard Rutledge will be accompanied by the Melton Mustafa Orchestra presenting What a Wonderful World. This evening of jazz also presents special featured artist Leon Foster Thomas, a Trinidad native and National Panorama competition with Phase II Pan Groove 2014 winner.
Event gates open at 6 pm on Saturday. General Admission is $15 ($10 for SIB Resident ID Cardholders) for lawn seating, guests must bring their own chair or blanket. Food and drink will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Joshua’s Heart Foundation. VIP Tickets, which include seating, food and beverages, are $50. Tickets for the Saturday event are now on sale at the Government Center (18070 Collins Avenue) and Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road) and online at sibjazzfest.ticketleap.com. All sales Saturday evening are cash only. Limited valet parking in the garage is $15 per vehicle (cash) and self-parking under the William Lehman Causeway is free. Look for event parking signage to direct you to the parking option you prefer.
The weekend concludes with a refreshing Jazz Brunch, with sumptuous food and music by Lourdes Valentin, on Sunday, November 16 at the 4-Star Trump International Beach Resort (18001 Collins Avenue). Tickets are available by calling 305.692.5601.
