Toytopia Exhibit finds Success in Museum Market with Record-Breaking Opening Weekend at Turtle Bay

Toytopia, an exhibit exploring the history and fascination with toys over the past century from Stage Nine Exhibit Design found success in its first museum appearance at Turtle Bay with record-breaking opening weekend attendance.

“As our first museum featured exhibit, we were thrilled to find out that Turtle Bay’s opening weekend for Toytopia broke attendance records,” explained Troy Carlson, owner of Stage Nine Exhibit Design.

Toytopia, an exhibit exploring the history and fascination with toys over the past century from Stage Nine Exhibit Design found success in its first museum appearance at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, Calif. with record-breaking opening weekend attendance. Stage Nine is typically known for creating one-of-a-kind exhibit experiences at many North American state fairs, recently began pursuing a transition into the museum market due to the popularity and quality of their exhibits. This nostalgic exhibit filled with items that will cause happy memories that can be shared with all generations is currently open to the public at Turtle Bay’s Exploration Hall and East End until January 7, 2015. Kids of all ages are sure to have fun while connecting with the toys of their parents’ and grandparents’ generations, while adults can remember and enjoy what they had while growing up.

“As our first museum featured exhibit, we were thrilled to find out that Turtle Bay’s opening weekend for Toytopia broke attendance records,” explained Troy Carlson, owner of Stage Nine Exhibit Design. According to Turtle Bay management, more than 9,000 visited the exhibit in its first month including more than 4,000 members, more than 2,500 public visitors and nearly 800 school tour guests.

Toytopia features a wide variety of elements to appeal to all ages, such as the world’s largest Etch-A-Sketch, the “Big Piano” like the one featured in the movie Big, a Zoltar fortune telling machine, a HASBRO feature area, model train sets, and several interactive building areas with Lincoln Logs, Legos and Keva Planks. There are also periodic photo opportunities with characters like Captain Rex Stormtrooper and an oversized Monopoly car and board..

This interactive, educational, and fun exhibit is included in the price of admission to Turtle Bay and is free for Turtle Bay’s members. Toytopia is supported by national sponsors: Keva Planks, Mindware, HASBRO, Duncan, Ohio Art, Crayola, K’Nex, Schylling, Schleich, and Hunter Railways.
