Emmy Award-Winning Actor, Executive Producer, and Shark Tank Veteran Andrew Kavovit has joined retail shelf space brokerage startup Shelf Monkey as Co-Founder and Head of Retail Relations.

Kavovit will leverage his retail and product placement expertise in establishing joint ventures with local and national partners for the company. Launched three weeks ago, Shelf Monkey focuses on retail shelf space allocation. The company’s goal is to become the top destination for securing product placement.

“Shelf Monkey is fortunate to have Andrew on board,” commented Shelf Monkey Co-Founder Tom Rapko. “Building a brand, especially one that challenges an existing paradigm, requires the type of talent Andrew brings to the table; a proven track record of product launches, deep industry contacts, and most importantly, a fierce competitive drive to be the best.”

Often considered the exclusive domain of old-line retailers, shelf space has become a hot topic in a society with a “startup mentality” hungry for new product placement. Shelf Monkey wants to positively transform the existing shelf space allocation system, viewed by many as constrained by its antiquated business practices, into one that is open, easy, and connected.

Shelf Monkey offers retail shelf space owners an opportunity to maximize the true market value of their shelf space by offering it on a platform that encourages pricing transparency and leads to free-market competition. On the flip side of the coin, manufacturers can now target specific locations, establish brand distribution routes, and use tailored demographics to formulate exact marketing budgets for a defined, data-rich volume of shelf space.

“A startup manufacturer, or even an established brand, can now take a quick look at all the listings on ShelfMonkey.com and put together a realistic plan for a product launch or expansion anywhere in the world,” explains Rapko.

Since the Shelf Monkey launch, entrepreneurs from all over the world have expressed interest in becoming shelf brokers to help facilitate retail shelf space listings. Shelf Monkey has provided the opportunity for thousands to pursue a rewarding and challenging career focused on the logistics of order fulfillment between brand manufacturers and retail shelf space owners.

Based in California, Shelf Monkey is the retail shelf space brokerage pioneer. The company focuses on unlocking the value of retail shelf space for both owners and manufacturers around the world. All images and content copyright Shelf Monkey 2014.
