"This is a comprehensive solution that will not only reduce our overall paper consumption, but will drive additional efficiencies and cost savings in our centralized scheduling department," said Christopher Westerkamp, VP of Revenue Cycle at Centegra.

HealthWare Systems today announced its partnership with Centegra Health System, which represents multiple hospitals, laboratories, physician care clinics, and specialty centers throughout northeastern Illinois. Centegra will now use ActiveXCHANGE, HealthWare Systems’ paperless document management solution, to process physician orders, patient documentation, lab results, pharmacy orders, insurance requests, and more. The solution is designed to eliminate the need for manual administration of paper-based orders, files, logs, requests, and follow-ups.

“We are thrilled to implement ActiveXCHANGE for Centegra,” said Doug Gruner, VP of HealthWare Systems. “ActiveXCHANGE helps facilities take control of all unstructured patient information and faxed documentation, including physician orders. It enables clinical and financial clearance well ahead of service, and reduces patient wait times, which is a crucial metric in today’s healthcare environment.”

“In addition to streamlining workflows, ActiveXCHANGE supports compliance efforts,” explained Gruner. “Lost or misfiled records can be costly mistakes. ActiveXCHANGE provides automated barcoding, easy indexing, and complete audit trails of all data exchange actions, to help health systems meet industry guidelines.”

“For our part, we’re excited to see ActiveXCHANGE in action, as well,” echoed Christopher Westerkamp, Vice President of Revenue Cycle at Centegra. “This is a comprehensive solution that will not only reduce our overall paper consumption, but will drive additional efficiencies and cost savings in our centralized scheduling department, as well as other departments within our system.”

ActiveXCHANGE offers dynamic features and benefits for specific healthcare departments, including central or decentralized scheduling departments, radiology, pharmacy, surgery departments, and free-standing centers.

For a seamless data environment, ActiveXCHANGE will be integrated with Centegra Health’s fax engine provider and document imaging solution. The integration will make all documentation viewable within Centegra’s hospital information system.
