Harney & Sons Fine Teas, celebrating over 30 years and three generations of master tea blending, celebrates the New Year and Green Tea Month with their classic & new blends of green tea.
The Harney family travels the world in search of the finest green tea available. It is not only Harney & Sons’ mission to provide access to outstanding green tea, but also to educate tea-drinkers on the deep historical and cultural roots of green tea within a global context. Green teas are the most ancient teas. Originally from China, they were transplanted to Japan many centuries ago. Green tea production methods vary but the focus is always to fix the green color. Thus, green teas are not oxidized.
Harney & Sons sells over 50 blends of green tea from around the world. Featured and popular blends include: Green Tea with Coconut, Tropical Green, Organic Sencha, Citron Green, Canton Green & Lung Chin. Many people enjoy the unique flavor of green tea while reaping the beverage’s high concentration of antioxidants. Harney & Sons categorizes their green teas into four distinct categories: Chinese, Japanese, Flavored and Decaffeinated. China Green Tea is where it (tea) all started, so the traditions of tea are the deepest, providing a diverse selection. As Japanese Green Tea was popularized in 1800s, many different teas were developed. Harney & Sons is proud to offer a wide selection of these teas, including some that are rarely seen outside of Japan.
Flavored Green Teas have recently grown in popularity: Harney & Sons works with either the light and sweet Bancha or more strongly flavored Gunpowder or Chun Mee, adding flavors, flowers and other botanicals to create beautiful and exotic tea blends. Harney & Sons also offers Decaffeinated Green Teas.
New to the roaster this year is their flavored blend: Blueberry Green. Harney & Sons artfully blends Chinese Green Tea with lemongrass, blueberry, and vanilla to create a balanced brew for all to enjoy year round.
