In June 2014, the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China (NHFPC) carried out a review of sucralose use in food and permitted the extension of its utilization in two more food segments, namely the pre-cooked noodles and rice and edible algae and fungi (the maximum use level of sucralose is 0.6/kg and 0.3g/kg, respectively.

In July, 2014, the NHFPC proposed to revise the maximum Xylo Oligosaccharide (XOS) Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) and increase ADI to 3.0g/day. Moreover, the NHFPC proposed to add corn cob in addition to wheat straw, as a XOS raw material.
